Immerse yourself in pure Salento style.
In 2007 we embarked on our very first building project. A pindaric adventure to create a family holiday home in Italy whilst living in the UK.
The masseria was crafted by local artisans using “Pietra Leccese”, the Apulian stone, creating a masterpiece of arches and 4 metres high vaulted ceilings.
The masseria was extended and completely restyled under the supervision of Apulian Architect Raffaele Centonze in July 2020, adding more features and providing a higher level of luxury and comfort.
Following the traditional layout of an Apulian masseria (‘fortified farmhouse’), the house was built on one level around a central courtyard, the heart of the masseria.
We closely and proudly followed every aspect of the project and meticulously selected furniture and artefacts which both reflect the local Salento Style as well personal family memories. From lamps and art crafted by local artisans to pieces which blend our Italo-Belgian heritage.
We look forward to welcoming you to Masseria Il Trullino and be your chaperones around the enchanting Salento region of Puglia. It will be our mission to offer you a relaxing yet memorable holiday among centennial olive trees and sleepy whitewashed villages.
